Wristreview

Not long ago I covered this guy Raymond Chan creating fascinating diver watches. To those who missed it, this cool guy is based in Hong Kong and all Andersmann watches are actually Swiss Made so yeah they’re nice to have in your personal collections. Well we all know how Swiss Made diver watches fare in the market so I don’t feel the need to give a statement on that. So here comes another Andersmann addition to his Deep Ocean Collection. It’s black and white design is a classic amongst diver watches and what I really like about it though is it’s darn neat and considering that it’s a diver watch, it’s pretty elegant too. So folks without further ado the Deep Ocean Ref. ANN0913 continues after the dot.

The 47 mm case is made of a high grade 5 titanium, it’s rock solid when it comes to durability but how does it look? Well, it’s very good. The case finish looks much like a polished steel so if you are used to having brushed stainless steel watches, a solid titanium case material is not very new. There is also the fantastic anti-clockwise unidirectional rotating bezel using ceramic and titanium. It features 120 clicks and I’m sure professional divers know what this means, it’s just common for a diver watch and lately more watchmakers had been using ceramic for the bezel whilst others prefer to stick with the traditional steel. Anyways a unidirectional rotating bezel in ceramic or brushed steel is still favored by most diver watch fans and it all has something to do with reliability. The screw-down winding crown is a bit lower at 4 o’clock so this one is new. The 26mm lug looks fine and creates an overall cool look to the watch.

Going to the black grained dial, darn it’s pretty neat. The grainy finish adds that matte look and when it comes to clarity, this is a plus. As for the luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers, well I can’t say no to that. Traditional diver watches use Roman Numerals but in this case, the overall appeal looks playful and I like it. Then the blued seconds hand also presents the unique Andersmann signature also used on the Oceanmaster 1000m ref. ANN0832. Overall, the clarity is nice and goes so well with the nice ceramic bezel and ANDERSMANN personalized black rubber strap.

Finally behind the nice double curved 4.5 mm sapphire that sports anti-reflective coating and screwed solid titanium case back is the Deep Ocean Ref. ANN0913’s workhorse, the Swiss automatic movement ETA 2892–2A. It has 42 hours of power reserve which is nice enough but could have been more. To those who are familiar with Andersmann watches, they usually make limited production but the ANN0913 is really limited to 100 pieces only so if you want to get one, it’s quite easy since Andersmann also offers free shipping for this watch with a price tag of CHF2380. You can use Paypal to order. The package also comes with an extra rubber and an Italian leather strap, it’s a pretty good deal to be honest since it has excellent value compared with other world class Swiss Made brand 3000m diver watches.
